Coaching is essential to high-performance, but many managers neither have the knowledge nor the time to coach their direct reports. This results in lost opportunities for effective problem solving, relationship building and creative collaboration. Whilst telling reports what we think they need to know and do is most managers default setting, in many situations it is disempowering and an inferior form of relating. There is a time for telling and a time for asking.
Compulsive telling tends to shut people and possibilities down.
Conscious asking opens people and possibilities up.
THE TWO-MINUTE COACHING METHOD is an innovative approach to Coaching that managers can learn in less than three hours. By accessing the COACH mindstate (Centred, Open, Asking, Connected, Humble) and asking a series of Clarity Questions, the manager is rapidly able to help their team member receive clarity about the real issues, the required resources and the adaptive actions that will best lead to the desired future.
The training consists of three, 60-minute, live training sessions delivered weekly by videoconferencing.
